Our Story
Sibedwo Foundation was born in 2020 from a simple observation: existing charitable systems were too slow, too bureaucratic, and often too opaque to effectively serve those in immediate need.
Alfred and Lilian Sibedwo came together with a shared vision of creating something different. They wanted to build a foundation that operated with the efficiency of a tech startup, the heart of a community organization, and the transparency of an open-source project.
Starting with just $5,000 in initial donations and a small network of trusted volunteers, we helped our first family within a week of launching. That family needed $300 for rent. We processed the application in 24 hours and transferred the funds directly. Simple. Direct. Effective.
Today, we've grown to serve hundreds of families, distributing over $100,000 in direct support. But our approach remains the same: minimize overhead, maximize impact, and maintain complete transparency in every transaction.
